Hi, Wonderd if somone can help me out, we have a 2 year old ceiling light, with 5 lamps in, 60W small Screw-in lamps. however when the light gets switched on a lamp blows, but instead of just going dark on the tip or making a pop sound its "blowing" with a loud band and after unscrewing the lamp and looking at the screw in cap, i have found it all black with a burnt smell and 7 or 8 small holes, melted through. when this happens it also trips the MCB (5A) the lamp do last like normal ones, its just when they blow its quite a violent way. any help or advise is welcome. Thanks

Sounds like its typical Ikea rubbish, where the bulb contacts aren't man enough for the job - heating up in the process and melting through the lead terminal on the bulb.
