Landlords Gas Test

Just had the annual Gas check/service done and this comment has been made regarging the gas cooker

The worktops have been there for years and the ends have always been and still are the original strip of formica glued on.

Is it unacceptable now or ever been?

If there is no signs of any scorching do not worry about it. It is not a gas reg

I'm a DIYer, but I can't see what that has to do with gas safety.
