I'm just about to lay my 189mm engineered boards at a 90 degree angle to the subfloor. What do you think the best method is? Floating, secret nailing??. Also, will i need an underlay... many thanks

What's the subfloor? Chipboard, existing floorboards?
If chipboard - don't nail in it - the chipboard will 'explode'

If exisitng floorboards: as long as they're level you can do both. Floating means foam underlayment first - NO DPM.
Nailing - no underlayment needed.
