Hi, I am thinking of laying a t&g floor. The space is 2 rooms, living and dining, connected by a double set of doors (the doors are long gone, so pictue a squared off arch). Effectively, a rectangle with two partitions protruding into the space. The boards are going longways through the opening.

Where is the best point in the room to start laying the boards? Corner, down the centre? Thanks.

Weyroc. I'm going to float it. Same as about 40 sq m that's been down for 15 years without probs, but I didn't lay that.

You'd be better off starting at one of the far walls, and then working down the room to the opening, and then continuing through into the other room. If you try and go longways, then when you get into the second room, you've got to work outwards from the centre, but have nothing to work against when knocking the boards in.
