My Builder has just finished a Dormer extension on my house, ive had the new dormer clad in HardiePlank. There is a lead strip under the two upvc windows about 4 inches wide and the full length of the window, It looks ugly.
I asked the builder about this as there isnt another house in the street that has this detail. He said its the correct way although he realises there are no other houses in the street with this.
Im confused as the close has 29 properties in and mine is the only one with this lead detail under the windows.(Lead Apron)
He strongly advised removal or even tucking behind the cladding and said my option coulkd be to paint it although id be forever painting it.
