A new roof was put on my neighbour's house recently and now there is a leak into the loft at my chimney. It seems the roofers haven't done the best of jobs and you can see the big gap between the tiles and my chimney. I want to try and resolve this myself if possible as the neighbour is very elderly and unwell so I don't want to bother him.

What kind of options could there be for fixing this?

The leak is not big, but it is soaking the timbers and boarding inside the loft a bit. Shining a torch through I can see it's wet in the neighbours loft too.

Thanks

Firstly, congratulations on gaining about 12 inches of your neighbours roof as that join should be down the centre of the party wall but is clearly in your favour and secondly it looks like they have used the old lead and tiled rather badly around it so it is a good bet they have not done the soakers and sealant correctly. My opinion would be to contact the roofer yourself if you can and tell them your concerns and that you had no leak before but have one now and so does the neighbour. See what they say and fingers crossed they will be decent about it and sort it out.

just a though it seems to be a single pot that is centrally placed on the i assume applying to a single property stack so to me suggests a on the edge on the boundary
