I am about to attempt to fix this kettle before I throw £25.00 in the bin.

A leak has developed near the on off switch on the underside of the unit, which has now turned into a gush. There appears to be three types of rivets (in the shape of very small triangles that an allen key would fit). There are slots next to these rivets which I am planning to fill with glue - the area that leaks the water.

I would like some advice please, can I use a glue that is (a) not conductive and (b) not melt when heated to boiling point.

I look forward to your response.

nice to hear people like to keep stuff going on :D

but i think in this case you may be on a hiding to nothing here
with the seal in contact with boiling water on a regular basis it is only going to be a temporary fix  .
by the time you have bought the glue and done whatever youre on the way to a new kettle
