Had one leaking from the thermostat phial today, straight out of the box.

Is this the dodgy weld people always talk about?

Dont you mean leaking from the pocket, Paul?

Does it mean you just replace the immersion heater element to get a 'new' phial pocket?

Depends on which pocket its leaking from! Immersion heater or tank!

He is probably still watching Live Earth concert from that lovely beach venue in Rio that they used for the Rolling Stones Concert which takes 220,000

Noticeable that the attendance at New York was not very good with lots of empty space unlike Wembley!

No sorry, was emailing quotes to people, great way to spend my Saturday nights.

Yes it was leaking from the pocket that the thermostat sits in.

To me it looked fairly simple: the leak should be easily sorted by replacing the immersion heating element. However, my colleague who until 3 weeks ago used to work for Baxi Potterton said that this was quite common and he felt that they would replace the whole cylinder!

Yes it is quite common and shows that Baxi Group don't even air test the cylinders before despatch.

You pays your money, takes your choice. We've lost too much of our money fannying around with Megaflo and refuse to specify them.

I agree Simon, ever since Baxi took over heatrea the quality has dropped a ridiculous amount. As I live only down the road from the Heatrea factory I have met a lot of ex- employees who have left since the Baxi take over, moral is low and they are all fed up with the cost cutting exercises and unprofessionalism of the Baxi group.

Isnt it amazing how Baxi ruin everything they touch

Potterton Pre Baxi was the best Boile maker (Lynx 2 Profile envoy and suprima excepted)

Heatrae Sadia the premier Unvented hot water Cylinder maker

Poof gone to Shyte

Why to go Baxi

Unfortunately I've got a 310 to be installed in a loft within a couple of weeks, sod getting that down if it leaks!
