As I said, I've seen it debated by fairly learned people - but only in relation to hypothesised flow rates of microns in 10s or 100s of thousands of years.
However, I'm pretty sure that there are some (other) 'intuitively very unlikely' materials which do 'flow' at quite significant rates.
