Hello all,

Anyone out there push me in the right direction?

Refurbing the bathroom including the lights. As part of the refurb I have to raise an area of the floor onto a plinth @ 4 " high, which will be tiled along with the rest of the floor. All in zone 1.To make it look a little better (maybe?) I was looking to drop some cool to touch led spot lights into the front of this plinth.

Maybe 3- 5 lamps @ 1W each approx, colour changing facility. Problem I have is they all seem eiether very expensive or not adequately IP rated. Anyone any experiences, suppliers examples of purchasing and using such.

I have a 3/ 4 meter run from this location to the loft. through wall or stud.
I would like to be able to switch these lights on via an externally located switch
Why cant I use similar lights destined for outdoor use. Assume it's the driver and Transformer which isnt IP rated. But if enough cable allowed this to be sited outside the bathroom, is that an issue?

Any advice appreciated

bite the bullet and use LEDs designed for a bathroom.....

They are expensive because they are designed so that you don't keep killing people who use your bathroom... :D
