Do those things work as is, or does some sort of solution be used with the pads?

I'm not wanting it for the car, but to polish up the plastic double glazing, of the caravan.

That price is an absolute bargain!
I have used polishing compound to sort car headlamps followed by clear lacquer. Not sure I would try it on caravan windows.

I have a tube of G3, and it worked well enough hand polishing the windows, they just need more of the same effort.

I also brought my headlights back to clear with it a few times, but they soon went back to an opaque surface coating. Like you, I clear lacquer coated them, followed by a polish up with the G3 - which has survived well since.

I’m going to Lidl tomorrow. I’m going to buy a pack to try out.

The car trim panel removing kit is in our Lidl atm too, that's £8 too, looks like a bargain for anyone in need.

Keep the pad moving and use a water spray bottle to lubricate and keep cool.
G3 polish then clear lacquer.

I've just been back to Lidl, to buy one. I only want it for the caravan front windows, they became slightly scuffed, when I sheeted the front over during the winter, when a slight leak developed. I got much of it out, hand polishing with G3, but it's still apparent, when the sun shines in - so it needs a bit more work. The pads in the kit, are a bit small for polishing the car, but I have a professional car polishing machine, on it's way to me soon, for giving the car a once over.

The windows are plastic, so they will not need to be lacquered. The polycarbonate of car headlights, do need to be protected, after they have been restored. The UV attacks the bare polycarbonate, it must have some sort of coating, when they come out of the factory, the clear, spray lacquer does that, sprayed on, then given a fine polish a few days later - the same clear, spray lacquer used on top of the body paintwork.

Car principle is exactly the same, there are some excellent videos on you tube from detailers etc.

I tried the Lidl pads yesterday, the finest black pads, with G3, on the three front windows, and it would seem to have worked. The difference between the pads, only seems to be the density of the foam - the coarsest being denser, allowing more cutting pressure to be applied. I was careful, to give the windows a good wash before starting, and did the polishing, with a battery drill on speed 1, whilst the windows were still moist.

The car was shining, but let down by mucky allows, and last time at Lidl, I spotted some Wonder Wheels, colour changing alloy wheel cleaner, so I went back for some of that to try. The instructions suggested to spray it on, wait 5 minutes, then rinse off when it turns red. I gave it a bit of help, with a brush. It did seem to work OK, but some reviewers suggested their didn't turn red - mine did, and they ended up quite passable. I refurbed the alloys myself, several years ago.

Polished off the last of their stock at my local store already, sorry!
