light pendant wiring help!!

new light pendant in kitchen have wired it correctly but nothing happens,
there are two main grey cables coming down through the roof, seems as though the switch does not work there are no other lights running from the same switch can somebody help

hmmm . . . how exactly?

if its wired correctly then it will work (assuming the lamp is ok) since it deosnt work it must be wired wrong.

try looking in the refernce section

There could possibly be a fault with the fitting...

I assume (if you have old colours) that you have attached the two reds to each other (and to nothing else) and attached the blacks, one to fitting N and one to fitting L, first having ID'd the switchwire and marked it off with red (brown) tape or sleeving.......????

i did say assuming the lamp is ok, is that close enough?
