hey all!

baisicly i cant get my bedroom light to switch on :?

I have a little drawing of the ceiling rose and how it is wired - please have a look and tell me the faults n how to sort it please.

baisicly - i have checkd each wire individually with a tester and only one red wire is live. none of the blacks or the other two reds are alive :?

i think it may be something wrong with the switch but i am not sure. please can you look at how i have wired and tell me weather it is correct.

the blue and brown wires are for the lightbulb socket thing.

sorry im bit of a noob lol

what ive done so far is on the site below - had to put it on a webpage because the site doesnt let me use remote image linking.

1 is supply in, 2 supply to next light and 3 is the switch? If so looks OK to me. Is it a dimmer switch?

If you get the wiring wrong across a dimmer switch it will almost certainly have blown the internal electronics. Some have fuses in them though.
Do you have a spare normal light switch which you can swop with the dimmer just to try?

Don't use it then!

Perfectly normal ceiling rose wiring, and what you saw when testing was just what's expected - see For Reference for how it works.
