lighting transformer blows

moved into this house 2 1/2 years ago. Its had an extension prior to us moving in, part of which is an en suite bathroom. This has 3 ceiling lights all of which are fitted with an individual transformer. The same light has just failed yet again. It is not the 12v halogen lamp but the transformer. If I change this transformer this will be the fourth in just over two years.

Clearly something is wrong causing this to fail constantly. Any ideas.

Thanks

Carp trannies?

Overheating due to insulation?

Poor connections?

Overloaded transformer?

Are you sure it is the transformer? It is not uncommon for the connectors in the lampholder to burn out. (Look for little black pits on one or both of the pins on the back of the lamp)
