Btw, the best rainstorm we have seenn was in Florida as we were on our way to the villa o a golf course from orland int airport. We always went mid may and return the day before the end of may bank hols.
We had this massive usa suv seater it was big and the rain came down like someone was chucking buckets of water over the car we all slowed down to about 10mp and they drive their with their hazards on during v heavy rain then this gush of water came down an embankment we stopped as others did and we were lucky not to get washes onto the grass. That was rain, honestly like buckets of water being thrown at you
When we lived in Africa during the rainy season, one of our pleasures was sitting on the veranda watching the deluge, thunder & lightning, helped along with a few G&Ts (to keep malaria at bay of course)
I remember visiting a friend in a flat in Brazil when a huge storm hit. Never seen so much water fall in such a short period. Rivers forming all over the place, rapids down the streets. Then an hour later sun shining and all drying out like nothing happened.
During one downpour in Harare city centre a street had turned into a river, a geezer had two fruit crates and was charging suit wearing city types 50 cents to cross the river using his crates as stepping stones, free enterprise at its best.
