Lining paper edges

Evening all.

Unfortunately there are two rooms in our house which haven't been re-skimmed and need lining paper. When I started room by room, I had never had a decent go at lining paper so when I came to doing it there were a few mistakes. Although I correctly sized the walls and avoided any air bubbles under the paper, I didn't cover the paste right to the edges or let the paper soak long enough (1400 grade paper), so some of the edges are peeling up (see pics). Absolutely does my head in overtime I wake up in the morning and see it, as it's in the bedroom. The front room went great however and after emulsion and a top coat, you can't tell paper has been used.

Anybody made the same mistake and had to re-stick? Seen a few threads but most mention overlapping glue or PVA; can I just use some more wallpaper paste and press it down with a plastic roller?

If you apply a bit of paste to the top of paper, it will soften it sufficiently for you to lift it, and then push the paste undeneath, wipe all the excess off, and then let it dry. Alternatively, use a sharp pointed knife ti lift the paper, and then push the paste underneath.

Thank you. I know it sounds a simple question, but what with the paper already being up I didn't know if I could soak it.

One day I'll get the rooms re-skimmed!

This can also happen if you "stretch" the paper too much on the wall ie really scrape it in one direction to get the edges to line up. As it dries you get a bit of pull-back and your edges can lift.
