Hi, I am going to wallpaper one wall in a striped paper horizontally. I wondered which way I should put up the lining paper, should this be put up vertically? I was going to put the lining up vertically so it's the opposite way to the wallpaper, please advise me!

Conventional wisdom is put the LP at 90 deg to the top paper, I believe. I guess so you dont get seams close to each other. That said, see this

Lining paper is wider than standard wall paper, this mitigates the risk of joins lining up.

I tend to always go vertically as I find it much faster and don't need to use adjustable height platforms.
