The fluorescent striplight above the mirror in our bathroom has just stopped working.

I have replaced the old bulb/striplight which was blown (discoloured brown and rattled), but to no joy. No fuses were tripped in the fusebox.

Is there a fuse hidden in the light somewhere? i have taken the ends off and cannot see any. I have read on the forum that Linolites are ****e, should I bother trying to fix it or just get another brand. Linolite website gives no answers.

Model: 'Razorlite White Pull Cord 60W Striplight'

Would really appreciate some advice from anyone out there (don't say 'grow a beard')

not knowing about this particular fitting, is there a starter on the side or end of the case? (little round thing, twists out). This may have gone. alternatively, just get a new fitting. they aren't expensive.

Has the light got a cover over it?

Sometimes the light won't work until the cover is put back in place. Not sure on that make though.

Cheers for the prompt responses guys, unfortunately there is no 'twist-out' starter and putting the cheap plastic cover back didn't bring any light either. At least I feel a bit better about buying a new light knowing that I tried to fix it based on good advice.
Thanks

Well, I've got a couple of spare ones up in my loft. Do you want a new one? Brand new, never been used.

Sorry to get to this so late .
