Hi everyone currently getting a multifuel stove fitted and i have i have a chimney fitted on outside of the wall you can see , they knocked the wall through at the bottom for the flue just wondering if would require lintel ?
I never seen if there was one there and not sure why the chimney was there as never been used in the 10 years we have been there, so not sure if was old gas fire etc.
The chimney is only thin so big enough for flue but couldnt fit fire in it So not sure what was originally there, i have attatched picture of outside, just wondering if should have lintel on inside or not structural ? Obviously jobs been done now and they would have know what to look for just curious or would it not matter for that size hole.
Thanks dean
