Need to take a supply form the YEB's outlet in an outside portch to the consumer unit inside the building. was thinking of somthing like the following what do you think?
You are not allowed to put any items inside the DNO's cabinet. If the cabinet is already there..........umm
How will the cable be routed?? External as your diagram?? In the ground or on the wall??
What length run for the armoured??
If you are fitting a 60amp sw fuse, your total max load will be 60amp, and therefore 16mm tails could be used at the origin as they will not overload, and are protected against fault current by the DNO's fuse (even if this is a 100amp one). Just gives you more space and ease of wiring inside a tiny 60amp switch fuse!
Maybe you would be better considering 25mm armour and a 100amp sw fuse - what sort of loading do you anticipate??
ok i've not heard of the DNO but if your meaning the YEB white housing then its not in one of those as its in an outside cabinet with another buildings supply (3 phase in) The N-Power guy has requested the meter tails be 25mm as thats what the regs say now and he wont connect to anything less than 25mm.
The lenth of the run is approx 12m max to the consumer unit inside the building.
The building will be powering approx 20 double socktets, few lights etc, mainly for small power tools and such.
YEB? do you mean YEDL? Dont think YEB exist any more (though your stuff may still be labelled YEB, ours still is). YEDL is a DNO (distribution network operator) N power? Now your just confusing us!

If the cable will be 'clipped direct', and there is no risk of more power being needed in the future to trigger a 100A upgrade, it would be fine, nad I'd be v. surprised if the DNO were that bothered. Check they are happy with your switch in their box, they may or may not be - if not its a second box I'm afraid!
many thanks for your reply mate, so you can't see anything wrong with running a 60Amp switch fuse & 16mm SWA to the consumer unit then mate.
The place the metres are isnt really a DNO its a outside cabinet that was built when the building was made for housing the elec metres and such and there is plenty of room in there so i dont think they will have any problems with it been in there.
