I've moved into a property and had trouble getting tv signal from sockets. I've been in the loft and there was a fuse socket and aerial booster attached to one of the trusses.
The booster had no led light on so assumed dead and bought another.
Checking power before isolating the circuit I'm not getting an voltage from the cable to the fuse spur.
No idea where it runs back to but all lights and sockets are on for the property so assume may have been cut at some point or not connected with part of a rewire in previous years?
Can I just take the nearest lighting junction box i can see and run twin and earth cable to another spur to connect tv booster to, to give it power? Or am I better trying to trace the existing spur cable back under all the insulation?

Try TV without booster.
When the anolog signal was turned off the Freeview signal was turned to full power.
Boosters were not needed. Many are still connected.
Also I heard that Freeview signal will be turned off eventually so the push for internet tv has started.

Yes you can, but make sure that where you take the power from is a permanent and not a switched connection, or your booster will only work when the bathroom light is switched on!
