I am going to be building a false chimney breast in my living room, with my TV inset into it. There is currently a gas fire & granite surround there, but am thinking of a log burner instead. Would it be possible to do this, & run the chimney up inside the false chimney breast & out through the roof, or at least high up the outside wall? Its a bungalow. Would the heat produced in the chimney be too hot for the TV/wiring/sockets etc.? Also, what sort of material could I build the false chimney breast from? Fire proof plasterboard etc..
Thanks
