Hi,

I am going to wire a socket to my loft. Instead of wiring from main ring downstair, there is single socket available just beneath the access hatch. I wonder if I can wire a long extension from this socket to supply my PC and printer. Total length of extension is about 5.5m maximum.

Many thanks in advances

Your best bet is to plug in a long extension lead to this socket. Job done.

If you attempt to wire a new socket from this one, you can't be sure the existing one is not a spur (from which you shouldn't extend without completing other work)

I'd just go for the plug in option!
