Any ideas on how to remove the lower engine mounting flexible bush without having to take the mounting off? To get the mounting plate off you need to remove the driveshaft, but the rubber bush seems to just push in to place once the old one is removed. The old one is stuck fast and applying pressure just distorts the rubber, which could break leaving the metal ring in place.

I think you may find the bush and mounting plate come as one unit, check with a Haynes Manual or ask at Euro Car Parts.

If its the same as the XUD engine the bush is pressed into the housing - extremely hard. You will have to take the bracket off and use a press to remove and refit the bush. I have removed one by cutting a slot in the outer ring with a hacksaw and the collapsing it but getting a new one all the way in square is almost impossible.
