Mandatory ID cards (Brit Card) to be announced tomorrow

Not really starmer was flip flopping and sitting on the fence - one min saying no and the next confirming it in other words. something like "no it will not be mandatory" but you will need it to do ANYTHING

The correct way to think of it is that it'll be the way to do anything digital relating to you and the government.

They did do a very poor job communicating it.
