Not really starmer was flip flopping and sitting on the fence - one min saying no and the next confirming it in other words. something like "no it will not be mandatory" but you will need it to do ANYTHING

The correct way to think of it is that it'll be the way to do anything digital relating to you and the government.
They did do a very poor job communicating it.
You havent actually raised any concerns other than worrying it will stop you buying ladders.

Because I don't want to faff about with my passport.
And my driving licence, although valid for voting, is sometimes rejected as it has expired. I'm getting tired arguing about it.

You backed it up and was 100% behind it you were all over this -defending it as much and as often as you could - would not listen to others who did not want it you just ridiculed them. And now just like that you are defending it not going ahead, not that you had any in the first place but any cred you did have has now completely evaporated.
