A friend is a highly respected medic. He was on an exchange trip to an American city, and was touring the ER. He asked, out of interest, how many gunshot wounds there were there annually. Eleven, was the surprisingly low answer. Our hero questions this. Yes, comes the reply, we've had 11 shootings IN THE ER in the past year!
