We are due a vote shortly in Bristol whether to have a mayor or not, if you live in a city that has a mayor and you have first hand experience, how would you vote if you had the choice, what are the real pros & cons?

To the average person, i dont think its much difference who runs the city, they all do what they want!
The one good thing boris did do was cut down the size of he congestion charging zone, which he promised to do and did it!
He may havevstiffed people regarding train fares, but i drive so dont care!

Ken Livingstone is a has been now. He f****d up GLC when he was in charge, didn't do much for London as Mayor.
Boris all the way methinks. He's a proper character who calls a spade a spade. Makes absolutely delightful gaffes. His hair is certainly longer than Ken's . Heck, he's even years younger than Ken.
If the other candidates were runners in this week's Grand National, 2 of them would fall at the first fence, then Brian Paddick would slam into them from behind.   ( in his dreams)

Ken was good in charge of the GLC back in the 1980's as a thorn in Thatcher's side, and did that wonderful thing of subsidising public transport. Roads were quieter, buses and trains were fuller.

Sadly his stint as Mayor was a bit of a damp squib and had too many controversies.

Since there's no obvious alternative, Boris is the lesser of the available evils.

Did you miss RED KENs destruction of the GLC. Teachers and other key workers not being paid on time or at all?
I had to go to county hall and with hundreds of others get our wages from the "pay masters" who argued over even the slightest.
People lost homes. Rubbish was not collected.
The bloke was a walking disaster and not better now.

Boris all the way.

Your memory is letting you down. It was actually that Thatcher woman who abolished the GLC.

People in other countries (outside Russia) are bemused that a PM could cancel the democratically elected council of a capital city and seize its assets.

I find it apt the green candidate supports the "robin hood tax".

Why is it green politicians have to always be economically ignorant.

County Hall was the "headquarters" of the LCC as it was then

What year do you have in mind, when you were employed by the LCC, and at the same time Ken was in charge?
