Great minds eh?So you're saying that if the frame of the lift became live, the potential exposed within the lift, anyone who touched it would not get a shock? Since the lift and its entire contents are at the potential induced. This makes sense, in theory!
faraday cages only work while you're in them..
if it was still live when it reached a floor and you brushed up against the outer metal door on your way out, the inner and outer door may not be touching and you've got a PD then..

That's true, but proper earthing and ADS should take care of things anyway.
Also the control cables to the lift car will be introducing different potentials from outside the lift car and possibly an earth too along a sheathed control cable so no Faraday cage there I'm afraid, but nice idea........
But those cable's are behind the inner walls of the lift, so inside the lift is a Faraday cage.
