Mellerware does have quite an interesting history http://www.mellerware.co.za/pages/home/about-us.php Although the company is based in South Africa they might still be interested to hear your story...especially if it is a sentimental one. I would send them an email, you never know your luck.

Thanks for the link. I have emailed them but I do not hold out much hope as they no longer seem to make simple coffee filter machines.
