merc vito stater issue

cheers for any help in advance lads.


got an 02 vito which has been running perfect since 02 when i bought it.went out this morning and it wouldnt start after my first job.a very small bump from one of the lads and it burst into life fine but wont start again.
people are asking if i can hear a click and i cant and they go hmmm,could be the starter!
ive heard some say that no click could be the solenoid so whos right.dont want to lash out on a starter when it could be a 20 quid relay.

Get a mate with a set of jump leads, it might just be a low battery.

hi saw your post, is the battery ok are the lights bright if they are ok it is the solenoid recon your starter its cheaper than new

thanks lads for your replies.lights nice and bright so no worries there.i am a sparks by trade (bigger voltages though) so measureda healthy voltage at battery.will get a solenoid from german swedish.
