Hi,
My lighting curcuit has no earth. Am i OK to fit flush ceiling lights that are metal? - plastic ones seem few and far between....

Thanks

No, unless the fitting is double insulated.

Save the money you want to spend on the lights, and put it towards having your lighting circuit rewired.

This will allow you to have any light you want.

If you were to carry on regardless there is a very real risk of electric shock.

Remember, electricity will kill anyone without warning.

Installing a metal fitting without an earth is just madness.

most DL's, evan metal, are double insulated so could be used, NIC recommend protecting this circuit via RCBO and only then as a very last resort if a rewire is out of the question- like RF says rewiring is highly desirable and personally I'd refuse to carry out the work without doing so.

Thanks for the advise - going for a rewire........
