How do you get hold of these by the way? If you remove them from jobs, do you not keep the whole unit?

Those 'shields' have been used on metalclad Wylex boards for over 50 years.

A lot of those boards now have been removed, so this is probably why he has spare parts.

Yes, they are from various old boards which have been removed. In most cases the old boards were not worth keeping or were damaged during or before removal.
