Never ceases to amaze me either.
But my years of experience tell me that if something works, albeit loose, folk will carry on using it until it breaks down or falls off (or out) of the wall.

Indeed.
I may be able to 'understand', even if not excuse, in the case of people who have experienced hearing that innocent-sounding and pretty quiet 'click', as a crack suddently appears in the faceplate. I've come across few materials as unforgiving as whatever it is that they make accessories out of (and, despite discussions here and elsewhere in the past, am still not clear as to what the material actually is).
