Mk Grid Switches...

Can anyone confirm,

need to put in a 2 gang grid switch, can the white plates and grid frames attack to regular metal back boxes, or do they need to go on the grid system back boxes?

metal and plasterboard boxes will work just the same.
Just ensure they are the deeper ones, 35mm ( i think).

Guess you don't mean the surface-mounted metal boxes?

Yep, don't try flushing one of those in!

MK do do flush mounting boxes, but standard 1 gang and 2 gang boxes can be used. As you up to 6 modules and above, you would need to use the MK flush back boxes, although other makes are suitable too.

If you're using metal back boxes make sure they sit a mm or two below the finished surface. If you're using dry lining boxes you may need to nibble bits out so the plate sits OK. Or maybe try one of these
