Grid switch query.

I have just bought an MK metal back box, 2 DP switches, an MK grid...

The screws don't line up between the grid and back box. Is this right? I'm tempted just to re drill the holes.

I'll post some pictures later

The back box and metal grid plate should match up.
There will be a second set of screw holes for the face plate, you are not confusing the two are you?

A picture paints a thousand words.
I seem to remember some back boxes being smaller, if you have the wrong type of back box it may not fit.

Yes, the grid frame goes 90° around, fitted in with M3.5 machine screws.
The other two holes (top and bottom) are for mounting the front plate, M3 screws?

****ing lost! Lol.

I have 2 sets of screws. Silver bigger ones that don't fit the face plate or the back plate.

I have gold screws that fit all three but the line up issue stops this working

Have you slotted the grid within the box rather than resting it on top?
The wings of the grid plate should rest on the backbox, not fit inside it.

Sorted. It sits on the flats. No I feel very silly for something so obvious! Lol

Thanks for your help
