Anyone else noticed that although the new LED ones are brighter and more vivid, they are increasingly being built down to a price?

They no longer have 4 circuits to chase properly, but 2.

What makes me laugh is that halfway through each sequence they will "flicker" and go into "reverse" - how do you reverse a pattern with only 2 circuits of lamps?!

And the controllers are infuriating! No matter what pattern you set it on, it will have 3 different speeds of that pattern, one of which is "spastic mode" as I call it, fast enough to give someone a fit, especially with fast reacting LEDs.

The controllers of old were much better, with 8 patterns, all of which had one speed. The only pattern I like on the new ones is "very slow" which speeds up to "quite slow", which is "just right".

It's about time they banned flashing christmas lights and blue LEDs too. They look bloody dreadful.

so where can one buy fairy lights with 4 circuits and no lunatic mode? ie decent ones!

Back when we all had sets of 20 standard fairy lights Woolworths sold little gadgets you could plug in instead of a bulb and it would make the remaining 19 lights Flash on and off. Very basic but I bought one. Thought it was awesome as a 14 year old who wanted a proper flashing set of lights lol. I was and still am quite sad lol.
