Monitor resolution problems

So bought myself a nice new 21 inch lg led monitor (e2240)
If i try to change the resolution to the monitors native 1920x1080 i get about 70 percent of my screen.

Being a bit of an idiot i don't know how to resolve this, and my graphics card is a Radon 9800 pro

Any help please?? Oh and its connected via vga if that matters

Hate that I may disapoint regarding price but 23" LCD from ARIA.CO.UK is £111 how cool is that? I bought 2 a while back still look amazing!!
