I've had a few late nights working on the bathroom and they must've taken their toll because I've just tried to install the new basin mixer with flexible monobloc tails... and... I've managed to leave them too short! B****R!

Is it possible to get rigid extensions? It's literally only an inch short so I really don't fancy cutting the back out of the vanity to get back to the compression joints and install longer flexis...

 I'm sure I've seen taps with rigid tails in the past that the flexis screw into, so is it possible to buy em separately??? :?:

Any chance of a pic? Not entirely sure what you're getting at.

Not sure what you mean by "rigid tails.....that the flexis screw into". Rigid tails screw into the tap at one end and attach to the supply pipe at the other.

Sorry,

I mean a short extension; so a section of 10mm tube with a 10mm female at one end and a 10mm male at the other so I can attach one end to the already installed flexi and the other end into the tap.

So something like the last few inches of these:

Ah, well then...

I suppose I'd better bite the bullet and start hacking up the back of the vanity then

Cheers anyway.

Yes, I just wanted to avoid doing it as it means breaking/cutting the back out of the basin vanity to get to the 15mm hot & cold.

Not the end of the world, I just thought I might be able to buy a couple of screw on extensions to save the time and hassle...

How were you going to connect up the tap if you can't get to the pipework?

For some reson I thought the threaded connectors rotated independently from the braided section similar to a normal 1/2" flexi tap connector...

Like I said too many late nights led to a sloppy finale

If there were some extensions available both the flex and the tap connections could be.made at the same time just by rotating the shaft of the extension. But as there aren't any out there...
