It was cerainly the case with brexhit, the decision to leave was going to be nodded through until gina forced a vote.

A vote? A vote on what - whether to carry out the wishes of of the result of the vote for those that voted in the referendum?

It must be very difficult for politicians to push ahead with national self-harm, whilst being fully aware that the gormless voters were told it would be great for the UK - by the likes of scumbag serial liar, Boris Johnson and The Wail.

Not difficult for them at all...

Politicians are opportunistic locusts, and care not for anyone but themselves and their mates...

... Bit like some MP's approving PPE and ferry contracts then? Why was that not alright but this is? Just sayin…….

I'm pretty sure that Parliament was not given the opportunity to vote on the Bra Baroness enrichment plan, nor on the Ferry Company with No Ferries contract.

You'll remember that Lying Conservative ex-Prime Minister Johnson lied to the Queen to get Parliament prologued so that he and his Brexer cronies could rule like Emperors without Parliamentary democracy.

Approved 'on the nod', eh? So some MP's approved it. Bit like some MP's approving PPE and ferry contracts then? Why was that not alright but this is? Just sayin…….

No, not like that.

If I recall correctly the legisythat created the referendum didn’t give the government power to implement it. The voice of the people had to be transferred into an act of parliament otherwise the daily mail would be making laws.

I have no idea, Cameron thought he was on a roll after winning the Scottish one and thought he could shut up his right wing. If he’d given Borris a cabinet post the outcome could well have been different.

That said there could/should have been a referendum on the terms of the deal

How could you have a referendum on the terms of the deal, all that would have done is made the eu dig in their heels in even harder than they already have to put off other countries thinking of leaving.
What we have which has been repeated ad nauseam an establishment that never wanted Brexit, to which you allude to with Cameron thinking it was more or less signed sealed and delivered.

Conservative Laura Farris completely debunks claims from her own party colleagues that the Privileges Committee report into Boris Johnson misleading parliament over Partygate was politically motivated. …
