Hi all 1st post here, fell like ive hit a wall in my search for a new mitre saw so need some advise on here.

Ive been looking at the -

dewalt dw707 from screfix for £250

metabo kgs225 £290 blows the budget

and the ryobi ems2431scl £240.

no ive heard the dewalt isnt all that good, although others say its a good deal for the price.

not heard much on the metabo saw and its a bit expensive but it does look solid.

and the ryobi i hear the motors arent mounted to well so dont give a good mitre.

the saw will get some use, but not daily, i will be doing more work in the new year in the manchester area as i do oak and hardwood flooring.
so needs to be half decent but dont even want to consider spending over £300 until it will be in full time use.

all help will be useful.

thanks.

thanks for your reply. you seem the only guy on this forum atm :D

i hear many things against the dewalt 707, plus its bare, no dust bag or arm extensions etc etc.

the metabo 255 plus has all the extras included, the budget cannot go much further due to some other stuff on order to fill the tool box :D

I thought that the Metabo was out due to budget restraints, I have no experience of their mitre saws but I have had cordless drills and an sds drill al did excellent service and were of good quality.

I bought the De Walt non slider mitre saw for £160 from B&Q and it's a good bit of kit and I have no probs with it. It has positive angle stops which a lot of the cheapies don't. I bought a Rexon a few years back and couldn't get it to cut a true 90 degree angle so I returned it.

i have a sliding dewalt one, not that i use it that much, but its never let me down. cant fault it

screwfix are doing the metabo one for £200 and back in stock on the 9th.

dewalt looks good but its bare.

i just wanted to see everyones suggestions and opinions on the saws above.

240v only for now.

Since last year we use a sliding mitre-saw by sip-group, very sturdy, handy and efficient.
Try your local specialised tool centre, that's where we bought ours for around £ 200.00 ex VAT if memory serves
