I need to purchase a PIR to switch 250 W incandescent lighting without the internal manual over ride feature.

The problem to solve is that frequent short duration power outages at thje site mean the existing sensor with manual override goes into permanent ON mode until there is bright sunlight to reset it or someone goes to reset it.

Also it needs to be a relay switched output ( not a solid state switch ) to enable a switch in parallel to provide a manual on overide when really needed.

Have looked at many suppliers and all seem to have tbe internal manual mode initiated by a short removal of power as in a transient power outage.

I thought that most PIR sensors which came on after a power cut only came on for a short time before re-arming - rather than staying on all night.

Many thanks for the replies. The Steinel device seems to fit the requirement.

It needs to be a relay output switch to [1] enable the later use of low energy lights without the problem of them winking on the power that leaks through a solid state switch and [2] to simplify the wiring of the external override switch.

It's certaintly not the cheapest soloution, but have you thought about using a GJD system with ELV PIRs?

I think they are well worth the money.

The owner ( a friend ) is not willing to do anything "complicated". He was not happy having a switch fitted to isolate the system. Until then he was pulling the lighting fuse at the consumer unit. The only option is to make the best of a poor situation.

The Steinel IS 180 has been bought and fitted.

Highly recommended. Does exactly what is needed, easy to install and looks smart and very un-obstrusive. The method of screening some of the sensor to avoid passing cars triggering the lamp is convenient, effective and does not detract from the smart appearance of the unit.

It is a bit more expensive than other makes but you get what you pay for and this looks good value for the money.
