Hi,

My mother-in-laws stop cock is so stiff to turn off, i'm afraid of braking the shaft as i have to put stillsons on it to turn it. So i thought i could either replace the shutoff tap's internals or would it be better to replace the whole stopcock, bearing in mind that the connecting nuts will have to be reused as there's not enough exposed pipe work to cut them off and fit new ones, and the stopcock if about 50 years old so not metric.
So what i need to know is will the internals from a metric stopcock fit the old imperial one.
Neal.

in house or on the street??

oil it up

heat it with a blow lamp a few days later turn it on a bit more before turning off

thats most off the old tricks :D

Probally work out about the same price, and better in the long run to just fit a new one mate =]
