Ok about a year ago i purchased a 108.Mbps router. The main computer is still hard wired via the router and my laptop is obviously wireless.
For the laptop i also install the wireless adaptor thinking this HAD to be connected to pick up the internet. But i can still connect without it at a speed of 54Mpbs using the network connection i setup at the time.
Now having just insalled pretty much the same setup round my mates his only works with the adapter plugged in. There is no signal received at all.
His laptop is much newer and does have the wireless switch turned on like mine.
Is there something really obvious as to why mine works and his doesnt.
Any advise is much appreciated! thanks
