never done it before routing a cable

hi can anyone offer advice on routing a cable for a light socket. Light socket already exists but not routed into wall.

the socket falls between two doors with the distance being approx. 1ft between the two door frames

What do you mean by a light socket?

FYI, this is a "light socket" AKA batten holder.

Buried cables should follow a straight horizontal or vertical line from the accessory they connect with.
