can anyone tell me if theyve heard any bad points of the new baxi bbu?

expensive, can only be used with the Baxi electric fire front.

Don't know if forthcoming regulations about flues in accessible voids apply to the flue going up the chimney.

Not expensive anymore as been on offer at plumbcentre for nearly 6 months now .
Simply because they have not took off as they thought they would.

The boiler, flue and fire can be had from 954 quid and that includes vat.

As for reliabiltity there is not enough out there for the standard guy to say it would have to be answered by baxi employees who attend them.

And there is no worries about the future flue regs it meets them

word from last baxi person i spoke to was they're not very good. Condense pump is noisy and unreliable, pcbs not great either. Electric fire, no ta. Not easy finding a route for the condense outlet either, even with 8m(or whatever it is) of tube.

thanks guys, my old 401 is getting on, its not the money, its the hassle
-noise dirt upheavel of getting a combi fitted, that i dread. i was hoping
getting the new bbu fitted would cut hassle to a minimum.
its just that they are just too new and i hadnt heard any thing good or
bad about them.

You don't have to go for a combi.

Nice heat only boiler (maybe in the top of the airing cupboard) is less work and mess.

Ted

as above, a heat only in the airing cupboard above the hw cylinder is often feasible, with a nice neat roof termination 8)
