Hi like to say hello first as i am new here !! thinking of buying a new boiler and have been looking at the vizo condensing boiler (vizo24 ) which b+q are doing at the moment for £ 350 00 ! have read a fair bit about them and they seem to be a good budget buy ( and i am on a budget ! ) so any advise would be brill ! also where do you buy spare parts and what is the warranty like ? cheers guys

If fitted correctly to a clean system this boiler should prove pretty good for a budget boiler.

As for spares, you wouldn't buy them, the RGI who fits it and/or repairs it would buy the spares.

if you could push your budget up a bit you could get a heatline capiz 28kw with 2 year warranty( the vizo only has 1) and can be had for under £500

anyway it is the installation which is the most important part, you you try and get it done on the cheap it will come right back in your face. pay for it to been done right and you will be fine

cheers guys thanks for your replys but dangermouse a more info reply would be better as i said i am on a budget and a reply of what do you expect for £350.00 is not contractive is it !!! i have come on here for advice and not rubbish !!! please tell me your qualifications so i can air them with other people on this site !!paul

He's a Valliant service engineer and his advice to you is spot on ,you may not want to hear what he says however you should pay attention.

excuse me but what advice did he offer !! ( what do expect for £ 350.00 ) is no advise at all if he is a valliant service installer etc i would have expected a much better response /advice other then quote what do you expect for £ 350.00 i joined this site for help and advice not bullshit and this at this point is what i am getting !!

Service engineer not installer. Point being the guy knows what he's talking about and I repeat,he is spot on.

It's a free world mate either take his advice or don't. £350 is not a lot of money for something that is going to provide you with heating and hot water for five years is it ?If it lasts that long your talking £70 a year.

Only boiler I've ever fitted that didnt work out of the box was................. you guessed a Heatline.

But what do you expect for £350?.

While appreciate money is tight and you are on a budget, you have to take into account this thing will heat your home and provide you with hot water every day! To apply the same principle as eating a cheap brand of cornflakes and not Kelloggs is my friend fuzzy logic.

As I said earlier you don't get alot for £350 quid, I suppose you want to fit it yourself too at a total cost of 50p. Save some more cash and get a good installer and a decent boiler, it's an investment that should last over 10 years and provide all your heating and hw. Do u want the hassle of something unreliable in winter?

Used to get all of the time with Vokeras but their customer service was brilliant. I've had an engineer out two hours after calling them, changed days now . I'm talking 20 year ago ,though.

I did look at fitting Vizos as a budget option for customers a little while ago, but when you total up the cost of the boiler, flue and programmer.. plus the fitting (Doing the job right) then the savings are minimal over my current cheapie, a Worcester Greenstar Junior... Don't forget that the cost of fitting a cheapie will be exactly the same as a better quality boiler, the only saving is the price of the kit which is pretty small over all...

We would charge £840 for fitting a Heatline boiler.

It would also be the same for a Vaillant Ecotech for that matter!

In the most unlikely situation of the Heatline failing during the second year we would repair it free of charge apart from the cost of any parts needed.

They are very reliable boilers when correctly fitted to a clean system.

This Paul not only sounds quite argumentative but as if he wants to fit it himself otherwise he would be asking these questions of his chosen installer.

agile to explain i've been pricing up new boilers as my boiler as packed in and is an old boiler ! i came across the vizo boiler in b+q (£400.00 down to 350 .00 ) which i thought was a good price but did not know the make so i've been looking to it as i have with other makes , and have read some good things about these boilers all being there a budget type boiler ! so i came across this website and picked up some good info but when i asked for some info the reply of what do expect for £350 .00 is not informative is it ! i was looking for advise on the boiler etc to help make a informed decision as to what boiler to buy irrespective of who is fitting it , i have not come on this site to argue with anyone nor am i argumentative but please info is what i am seeking and thats it so if i have offenend anyone then i applogise for that .Paul

But your not getting the point are you?

There are some boilers out there that cost £1750 and there are some that cost £350,the point is you pay for what you get however much more important is how the boiler is installed a £1750 boiler will end up knacked if badly installed but the boiler manufacturer is hardly likely to tell that customer to do one whereas with the el-cheapo boiler you are going to be on your own more or less.
