I found this in S10 on Friday. Took down a downlighter over a shower cubicle to find acouple of obstructions close to it...

It's a bit tricky to make out, but basically there is a twin & earth cable and a grey plastic pipe right above where the lamp would be when the fitting is reassembled...

How did you resolve that one?

At least if it over heats it has a sprinkler system to cool it down

I "At RISK"ed it. Took the lamp out and wrote a form advising why it was dangerous and not to use it.

New build, got the householder to talk to the builder or NHBC about it. However, they were told if the wanted anything sorting out under the NHBC, there is an "excess" of £1000. Is that right??

Also in the same house, a bathroom downlighter where the tx was actually resting on the lamp. Rather brown....

And two in the kitchen with fire hoods so sloppily installed they were not fixed at all with great big gaps. And loft insulation over the top of them. The fibreglass of the hoods was browning nicely, as was the plasterboard.

All that in a single storey part of the room with a ridge roof over and no access from below. Nice.
