New c u cable extension

I know there's plenty room for the c u, that wasn't the issue needed to maintain din rail in same position otherwise could have been short using other such as hager/ wylex as their din rail would've been 20/30mm lower down.
Or am I missing something

I know it will fit to cables without extension,
Impossible to know that.
The new will very likely have different devices in it - RCBOs most likely instead of whatever is in the one you have got.
The neutral / earth bars are likely to be in different places.
The main switch may be on the opposite size.
Cable entry locations will not be identical.

I'll ask again, are EATON good quality
They meet the same standards as all of the rest.
They are an option. Other options are available.

Or am I missing something
None of the problems you are inventing are of any concern at all.
They will be dealt with by whoever installs it, assuming they even exist at all. That's why you pay someone competent to do these things.
Otherwise you are buying a dog and barking yourself.

Are you planning on doing this yourself?

No wouldn't go near it certified sparkt only.
Eaton good or bad
I use fusebox or schnieder, id use fuse box for yours as schnieder rcbos face down not ideal for top entry cables like you have.

Haven't used an Eaton for years, did use a Lewden the once that was ok.

30 yrs plus with existing memera must count for something never had any problems with it just too long in the tooth now

Future proof 68 now just wanna know it'll see me out, wife 10 yrs younger don't wanna leave her a legacy, call me an old softie.
Gonna get new hob and oven too existing are 15 yrs old nothing else needs sorting

The POINT is this.
The electrician should have a look FIRST.
BASED only from the limited pictures we HAVE, get a consumer unit where the main switch is on the RIGHT HAND side.
Smaller circuit cables can be easily extended if necessary.

Any electrician worth their salt will know what to do.
Meter tail length is the tricky issue. Some CUs (eg Fusebox) can have the main switch at either end.
