on our new ford fiesta, march 2009, the seatbelt warning sounds for no apparent reason, seatbelt is fastened, going to take it back to main dealer but wondered if anyone had a simular experience

Superb vehicle! The passenger seat has a weight sensor built in...so if the driver puts her handbag (usually full of weighty carp) on it, the sensor thinks that someone is sitting there without a belt on. Just a thought! Cheers John

My Fiat 500 does the same, if you pop anything heavier than a sandwhich (wrapped of course) on the seat it detects it as a passenger.
